Arada has awarded a $49.9 million (AED 183 million) contract for the construction of Reigate Grammar School Masaar, a new K-12 campus in its $2.59 billion (AED 9.5 billion) Masaar development in Sharjah. This marks the first branch of the UK-based Reigate Grammar School in the UAE.
The construction contract has been awarded to Al Rehab Al Arabi Building Contracting, with work scheduled to take 16 months. The school will be located on a 450,000-square-foot plot in Masaar’s northern corner, close to Masaar 2 and Masaar 3.
The 2,700-student capacity school will feature premium amenities, including a performing arts centre, STEM centre, multi-purpose halls, sports facilities, and swimming pools. It is set to open in September 2027.
Reigate Grammar School Masaar is the first expansion of the UK school into the UAE. Founded in 1675 near London, the school was named Independent School of the Year 2025 by The Sunday Times.
The development of Reigate Grammar School Masaar follows research indicating a strong demand for a premium British curriculum school in the region. The school will feature ‘The Reigate Way,’ an educational approach focusing on leadership, innovative teaching, and student wellbeing.
Masaar, launched in 2021, is a 19-million-square-foot forested community with 3,000 residential units. It is designed for an active, healthy lifestyle, featuring a ‘green spine’ with over 70,000 trees.
The development is located near Tilal City, the Sharjah Mosque, and Arada’s Nasma Residences, with easy access to Emirates Road and Maliha Road. It is 15 minutes from Sharjah International Airport and 20 minutes from Dubai International Airport.
