Eagle Hills has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority – Awqaf Abu Dhabi to develop a commercial project valued at $272.25 million (AED 1 billion), named ‘Mother of the Nation City’, in tribute to HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.
The project will generate sustainable endowment returns to support the ‘Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans’ campaign, launched by the Authority under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to create a long-term funding source for orphans nationwide.
The signing ceremony was attended by HE Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed, Chairman of the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority – Awqaf Abu Dhabi, HE Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of the Authority, HE Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Secretary General of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, HE Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Eagle Hills, and Hesham Ibrahim, Group Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Hills.
Under the MoU, Eagle Hills will develop and deliver the project to generate sustainable returns directed toward supporting orphans in education, healthcare and dignified living, reinforcing endowments as a long-term development tool.
The agreement comes amid strong engagement with the “Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans” initiative from institutions, entities and individuals, underscoring the UAE’s culture of generosity and the growing role of endowments in social development.
The initiative aims to convert contributions into sustainable, professionally managed endowment assets to ensure long-term support for orphans and strengthen a cohesive, sustainable society.
Launched by the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority – Awqaf Abu Dhabi, the initiative reflects the UAE’s longstanding commitment to charitable work and aims to enhance the quality of life for orphans through a stable, sustainable funding model.
