Bahrain and Tunisia have discussed means to enhance cooperation across various domains in order to serve their mutual interests.
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed the strong relations with Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad of Tunisia, on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah.
Further, the two ministers discussed regional developments, their impact on security and stability, and issues of common concern.
Bahrain and Tunisia maintain strong economic relations based on trade, investment, and cooperation in various sectors. Bahrain exports aluminum, petroleum products, and chemicals to Tunisia, while Tunisia exports agricultural products, textiles, and machinery. Both nations are working to expand bilateral trade and investment, with Bahrain investing in Tunisia’s banking, finance, and telecommunications sectors.
Additionally, they collaborate in regional economic forums and seek to improve trade agreements and financial cooperation. Tourism and cultural exchanges also contribute to their economic ties, fostering mutual growth and opportunities in various industries. Furthermore, they further strengthen ties, create opportunities for sharing knowledge, encourage innovation, and promote business opportunities in areas such as education, technology, and the creative industries.
According to the reports, both Bahrain and Tunisia are committed to broadening their economic relations through strategic partnerships, with an emphasis on diversification, growth, and regional economic integration.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Ali bin Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to Saudi Arabia; Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organizations Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and the accompanying delegation.
