Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has carried out an extensive field inspection of key supply chain hubs, including central warehouses, markets, and retail outlets, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the nation’s food security framework.
During the visit, the Minister toured several major businesses such as Abdul Lateef Khalid Alaujan Foodstuff Company in Hidd, Nesto Markets in Gudaibiya, Sharbatly Fruit Group, and Baba Sons Company in Sitra.
The purpose of these visits was to evaluate the efficiency and resilience of supply chains, as well as to review current strategies designed to ensure a steady and reliable flow of essential goods across the Kingdom.
Minister Fakhro emphasized that reinforcing supply chain resilience remains a critical priority, particularly in maintaining market stability during evolving global and regional conditions. He noted that the government is actively coordinating with suppliers and distributors to secure sufficient strategic reserves of essential commodities, ensuring that consumer needs continue to be met without disruption.
He further underlined the vital role of collaboration between the public and private sectors in supporting Bahrain’s food security system. Regular inspection campaigns, he said, will continue to monitor pricing, prevent market irregularities, and guarantee the availability of a wide range of products for consumers.
Representatives from the food and retail sector reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with authorities. They highlighted their preparedness to sustain supply chain operations and maintain consistent availability of key goods in local markets, reinforcing confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to manage supply and demand effectively.
