Bahrain Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Batelco, a Beyon company, during the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit 2025.
The event, under the theme ‘Building the Future – Smart Cities, Sustainable Growth’, included a conference and exhibition centered on the future of urban living. It gathered key stakeholders and industry experts to explore the latest developments and trends in smart city technologies.
The MoU between the Ministry and Batelco focuses on developing, evaluating, and implementing cutting-edge solutions to enhance digital infrastructure in areas such as connectivity, voice communication, smart security, and digital signage.
Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted that the agreement supports cooperation in developing comprehensive digital infrastructure and enhancing coordination in communication and voice systems.
Al Mubarak further noted that Batelco will provide technical expertise and innovative solutions, aimed at enhancing the Ministry’s connectivity and voice systems.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, stressed that the agreement will center on efforts on delivering technical expertise and innovative solutions, along with assessments and recommendations for communication system improvements. Al Khalifa also praised Batelco’s key role in supporting sustainable development and enhancing digital infrastructure.
Muna Al Hashemi, CEO of Batelco, underscored that the company seeks to enhance cooperation in digital infrastructure and unlock new opportunities in related systems and technologies.
Abdulla Danesh, General Manager of Batelco’s Enterprise, stated that the company will deliver innovative digital solutions, such as communication and voice services, to elevate the Ministry’s operations and municipal service quality. Danesh also added that Batelco will offer technical support and smart city infrastructure solutions.
