The Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain has taken decisive action to safeguard national security in response to Iranian attacks against the Kingdom of Bahrain and the serious risks these pose to the safety of citizens and residents.
As part of these protective measures, the ministry announced a ban on maritime movement for seafarers using fishing and leisure vessels to ensure the safety of Bahrain’s coasts. The ban will be in effect daily from 06:00 PM [07:00 PM GST] until 04:00 AM [05:00 AM GST], starting today, March 29, and until further notice.
The restricted areas extend from the baseline of the Kingdom’s coasts to the designated line located in the northern maritime zone, as clearly specified in the decision prohibiting small vessels from crossing that area.
The ban also comprehensively covers movement from the baseline of the Kingdom’s coasts to its maritime boundaries in the western, eastern, and southern zones to ensure full coverage of all sensitive areas.
The decision comes as an extension of previous directives regulating maritime movement, as clearly illustrated in the attached map and supporting guidelines issued by the relevant authorities.
The Ministry has urged all seagoers, including fishermen and leisure vessel operators, to strictly comply with the maritime ban timings and avoid approaching the coasts or restricted zones in order to ensure their safety and avoid any legal accountability or penalties.
These precautionary measures are being taken as part of ongoing efforts to enhance maritime safety, strengthen security oversight, and raise the level of preparedness under the current circumstances.
