Chinese multinational electronics company TCL has launched the TCL Movetime Family Watch 2, which is a successor of the TCL Movetime Family Watch from last year.

The TCL Movetime Family Watch 2 is designed for children and allows parents to keep track of them while they venture outside. The smartwatch supports 4G SIM connectivity for calls and messages, making it all the easier for parents to communicate with their children.

Further, it has a larger display than the TCL Movetime Family Watch, which was meant for older citizens. The new smartwatch provides more accurate location tracking, a better camera, and longer battery life than its predecessor.

TCL Movetime Family Watch 2 will cost $177 (EUR 149) when it goes on sale across Europe in mid-August this year. The company has not yet disclosed any information about the availability of the smartwatch in other regions.

As per the company, the smartwatch features a 1.54-inch color display and runs a dedicated Kids UI. Children can customize their home screen with colorful wallpapers. Video calls and text messages can be made directly from the smartwatch via its Nano SIM card slot, using its 4G capabilities. Children can also use the one-touch SoS button in case of emergencies.

TCL Movetime Family Watch 2 logs the entire location history and utilizes real-time geolocation for a more accurate position. “The Safe Zone geofencing feature enables the parents to set a radius that, if their child crossed while wearing the smartwatch, a notification will be sent to them. The smartwatch comes with 40 percent better battery life compared to its predecessor,” according to the company.
