The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has unveiled its new Maritime Centre, a strategic initiative aimed at reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for shipping, maritime trade, and maritime finance, as the emirate continues to expand its role in international commerce.

The launch marks a significant step in DMCC’s broader strategy to deepen Dubai’s integration into global trade value chains by creating a dedicated ecosystem that connects shipping activity with finance, insurance, legal services, and commercial intelligence under one platform.

The DMCC Maritime Centre is built on an existing foundation of more than 150 maritime-related companies already operating within the DMCC district, spanning shipping, logistics, marine services, and trade support sectors.

By formalizing this network into a structured, transaction-oriented cluster, DMCC aims to capture a greater share of value generated by global shipping activities and retain more of that economic benefit within Dubai.

Unlike a regulator or port authority, the Maritime Centre will function as a commercial ecosystem designed to support the broader infrastructure surrounding maritime trade.

This includes maritime finance, vessel insurance, digital trade documentation, legal advisory services, risk management solutions, and market intelligence platforms.

The move reflects a wider global trend in which shipping companies are increasingly choosing jurisdictions that combine strong trade flows with sophisticated financial ecosystems and access to specialized maritime services.

“Shipping today is not only about the movement of goods, but about how that activity is financed, structured, and managed. With the DMCC Maritime Centre, we are building the ecosystem around that reality. We are bringing together the companies, capital, and services that sit around maritime trade and creating the conditions for more of that value to be captured here in Dubai.”

A key differentiator of the Maritime Centre is its close integration with DMCC FinX and DMCC Wealth Hub, two complementary platforms that extend maritime trade into financial structuring and capital management.

Through DMCC FinX, maritime companies will gain access to financing products such as vessel finance, trade credit, freight receivables financing, and risk mitigation tools directly tied to shipping operations.

Meanwhile, DMCC Wealth Hub will provide shipowners, investors, and maritime entrepreneurs with services focused on wealth structuring, asset preservation, and succession planning linked to shipping-related assets.

The launch strengthens Dubai’s ambition to become not only a physical logistics gateway but also a financial and commercial command center for maritime trade.

By integrating shipping operations with capital markets and professional advisory services, the Maritime Centre creates a single connected environment where shipowners, operators, financiers, insurers, legal experts, and technology providers can collaborate more efficiently.
