Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company Edamah, the real estate arm of Mumtalakat, has announced the start of public beach enhancement works at Bilaj Al Jazayer, marking the first phase of the wider masterplan to transform Bahrain’s western coastline.
The initial phase forms part of the landscape enhancement of the Bilaj Al Jazayer master plan and aims at upgrading the beachfront into a more accessible, active, and lifestyle-oriented destination.
Covering more than 80,000 square meters, the development will introduce a range of public amenities designed to elevate the visitor experience.
Planned upgrades include shaded walkways along the shoreline, dedicated cycling and jogging tracks, outdoor fitness and sports zones, landscaped green spaces, and children’s play areas.
The redesigned beachfront will also feature food and beverage outlets, retail spaces, parking facilities, and valet services, supporting a more integrated and convenient coastal environment.

Construction work is scheduled to begin on April 13, during which the public beach will be temporarily closed to facilitate development activities and ensure safe execution of works.
The Bilaj Al Jazayer master plan spans approximately 1.6 million square meters and integrates hospitality, residential, retail, and entertainment components.
Key developments within the project include the four-star Avani Hotel, the five-star Tivoli Hotel and Residences, the Club Hawaii @ Bahrain Surf Park, and the Azure Beach Club.
The project has recently been recognized internationally, receiving a Five-Star Award in the Mixed-Use Development category at the Arabian Property Awards 2025–2026 in London.
