Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a leading industrial company in the UAE and the world’s biggest ‘premium aluminum’ producer, has sealed a new agreement with Hyundai Mobis, to increase its CelestiAL solar aluminum supply.
CelestiAL solar aluminum stands out as the world’s first aluminum made commercially with solar power, playing a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Since 2015, EGA has been supplying Hyundai Mobis with 66 thousand tons of metal per year. The new agreement will expand the volume of CelestiAL from eight thousand this year to up to 15 thousand tons per year by 2026.
Both parties will explore a long-term cooperation to supply value-added products, including billets, primary foundry alloys and recycled aluminum. In addition, EGA and Hyundai Mobis will work together to innovate exclusive new alloys for automotive applications.
Aluminum is essential for the automotive industry due to its lightweight, strength, and corrosion resistance properties. EGA shines as the leading supplier of foundry alloys to the automotive industry worldwide.
