Etihad Airways has unveiled plans to fly its A380 to Narita International Airport in Greater Tokyo for Summer 2026, offering travelers a premium, high-capacity aircraft experience on one of its most in-demand Asian routes.

The renowned double-decker will begin operating between Zayed Abu Dhabi International (AUH) and Narita International (NRT) on 16th June 2026, aligning with the bustling summer travel season and meeting growing demand for premium international travel.

The world’s only three-room suite in the sky, delivering Etihad’s legendary flying experience, is on its way to Japan, setting a new benchmark for luxury and comfort on the route.

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, explained that the demand for travel to Japan has continued to rise, prompting the airline to introduce the larger A380 on the route. He noted that the aircraft is especially well-suited for flights between the UAE and Japan, where business travel plays a pivotal role and the two nations share long-standing economic and cultural connections.

Based in Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways serves destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, with wider access through its codeshare partners.

The increased capacity opens up the UAE’s capital to even more Japanese travelers, whether they choose Abu Dhabi as a convenient stopover or as a vibrant destination to explore in its own right. With this addition, Tokyo joins Etihad’s growing A380 network alongside major global cities such as London, Paris, Toronto and Singapore, further strengthening the airline’s long-haul offering. Flights on the new service are available to book, giving travelers ample time to plan their journeys for Summer 2026.
