Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch 2021 lineup has been unveiled.
American watch and lifestyle company Fossil has unveiled the Gen 6 smartwatch lineup that comes with the new Snapdragon Wear 4100+ platform.
As per the reports, the range comes in different styles and sizes as well as there’s a Michael Kors branded variant. The Wear OS 2 software is used on these new smartwatches, not the Wear OS 3 software that was introduced on the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
Fossil has stated that the Wear OS 3 update will be available in 2022. The new Fossil Gen 6 range comes in 42mm and 44mm dial sizes and runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4100+ platform.
The new Fossil Gen 6-line costs $299, according to the reports. The stainless-steel model will be available for $319. The wearables come in Smoke Stainless Steel, Brown Leather, Green Camo Grosgrain, and Gold or Purple options. There is no information about the availability of the Fossil Gen 6 range in other international markets.
Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch Features
According to the statement, there’s 1GB RAM and 8GB storage on board and the smartwatch integrates a 1.28-inch (416×416 pixels) Color AMOLED touchscreen display with 326ppi display. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4100+ platform, which promises a 30 percent boost in performance over the Fossil Gen 5 with faster app loading and lower power consumption.
It offers Bluetooth v5 connectivity, as well as a speakerphone and mic for making and receiving calls. The magnetic charging dock can charge the smartphone by up to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. The battery life is said to last for over 24 hours in extended mode.
There’s an integrated SpO2 sensor on the Fossil Gen 6 range to get estimated blood oxygen saturation measurements. Furthermore, there are built-in heart rate monitoring and wellness apps that measure your activities, chart your progress, and show you how many calories you’ve burned.
As mentioned before, the lineup runs on Wear OS 2 and comes with Google Assistant support. The Fossil Gen 6 is 3ATM water-resistant. Social watch faces, calendar alerts, smartphone notifications, smart home device control, GPS, NFC SE, and Wi-Fi support are the other features available in the smartwatch.
