Qatar General Authority of Customs’ (GAC) Chairman, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, has officially inaugurated the new Customs Documents System, marking a key milestone in efforts to boost operational efficiency and strengthen international customs cooperation.

The initiative is designed to automate archiving processes and create a unified central database for customs documents, streamlining procedures related to global customs collaboration.

The system also encompasses the Authority’s participation in regional and international meetings, as well as the presentation of customs agreements and memorandums of understanding.

GAC said in a statement that the system leverages artificial intelligence to analyze document content, enhancing operational efficiency and streamlining access to information. It also strengthens data protection and confidentiality in line with the highest applicable standards.

The newly launched platform introduces advanced mechanisms for seamless information exchange and enhanced collaboration across various departments within the General Authority of Customs (GAC).

By streamlining internal processes, it fosters a more flexible, efficient, and modern work environment. The system also plays a vital role in supporting Qatar’s broader digital transformation agenda, aligning closely with the strategic objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to build a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy, as per the reports.
