The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of UAE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Aviation Group to strengthen cooperation in implementing practical aircraft maintenance experience programs under the Al Jeer Practical Maintenance Experience Program.
The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the UAE GCAA, and Mahmood Al Hay Hameli, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group. The partnership aims to prepare qualified national talent to meet the needs of the aviation sector and support its sustainability.
The MoU establishes a joint framework to design and deliver practical aircraft maintenance experience programs, incorporating supervision systems and ensuring alignment with applicable GCAA regulations. It aims to strengthen coordination among relevant entities while creating clear employment pathways within the aviation sector.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the UAE GCAA, said that the agreement reflects the GCAA’s ongoing commitment to forging strategic partnerships that advance national talent development. He emphasized that hands-on aircraft maintenance programs play a vital role in preparing skilled professionals who can meet evolving labor market demands.
The Director-General stated that investing in practical training and equipping Emirati youth with real-world industry experience underscores the authority’s dedication to enhancing the sustainability and global competitiveness of the aviation sector.
Mahmood Al Hay Hameli, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group noted that Al Jeer is a key initiative launched by Abu Dhabi Aviation Group to train and qualify Emirati nationals. The program provides specialized practical experience in aviation, supports Emiratization efforts, and helps develop highly skilled professionals for this critical industry.
