Google has unveiled its latest experimental app, Google Doppl, a new AI-powered virtual try-on tool developed by Google Labs.
Designed to transform the way users explore personal style, the Google Doppl app allows people to visualize how different outfits might look on them by uploading clothing images and generating digital try-ons, all powered by advanced artificial intelligence.
According to the statement, “WithDoppl, users can try out any look, so if they see an outfit that they like from a friend, at a local thrift shop, or featured on social media, they can upload a photo of it into Doppl and imagine how it might look on you. Users can also save or share the best looks with friends or followers.”
The company said in a statement that Google Doppl is in its early days and it might not always get things right. Fit, appearance, and clothing details may not always be accurate.
In 2023, the company introduced an AI feature that showed clothes on a wide range of real models to help users see how the item looks on someone with a similar body shape.
Google Doppl is now only in US
Doppl represents Google Labs’ latest step into consumer fashion tech, offering a playful and personalized virtual try-on experience. Google Doppl marks a significant step into AI fashion tech, aiming to blend personalization, creativity, and eCommerce integration.
Still in beta and limited to the US for now, it demonstrates the potential for richer stylistic exploration and e-commerce integration. As an experiment, Doppl collects feedback that could guide future enhancements or wider rollout.
