KFSHRC and NUPCO partner to boost medical supply chain

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Unified Procurement Company for Medical Supplies (NUPCO), marking a significant step toward advancing Saudi Arabia’s healthcare infrastructure.

The agreement establishes a strategic framework for collaboration aimed at enhancing and organizing medical supply chains, developing procurement services, and expanding the use of digital platforms. It also includes initiatives to foster the exchange of expertise in business development and information technology between the two organizations.

According to the statement, this partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader vision to modernize healthcare services through innovation, efficiency, and strategic cooperation across key institutions.

The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Health in Riyadh, in the presence of KFSHRC chief executive Dr. Majid Al-Fayyadh and NUPCO chief executive Engineer Fahad Al-Shebel.

The MoU outlines collaboration across several strategic areas, with a strong focus on developing an advanced electronic marketplace platform and enhancing logistics services. It also includes the unification and integration of product catalogs, strengthening the alignment of clinical services, facilitating knowledge transfer, and advancing the use of artificial intelligence. Together, these initiatives aim to improve operational efficiency and elevate the overall quality of healthcare services.

As per the reports, KFSHRC ranked first in the Middle East and Africa and 15th globally among the world’s top 250 academic medical centers for 2025. It was also recognized as the most valuable healthcare brand in the Kingdom and the Middle East by Brand Finance in 2024, and it was included in the World’s Best Smart Hospitals list for 2025 by Newsweek.
