UAE-based micro-mobility startup, FENIX has launched on-demand shared electric bikes (e-bikes) for residents and visitors in selected areas of the UAE and Qatar.

FENIX will introduce its shared e-bikes across the region in partnership with community stakeholders. The service was initially launched in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra communities in partnership with the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA).

In Qatar, FENIX has entered into an exclusive micro-mobility partnership with ASPIRE Zone in Doha, to offer visitors a safe, convenient and efficient means of transport across the sports complex via its FENIX e-bikes.

The e-bikes join a growing portfolio of mobility offerings provided by FENIX, including market-leading shared e-scooters and the region’s first private e-scooter subscription service ‘MyFENIX’.

With a range of vehicle types and business models, FENIX is offering increasing choice to consumers to make micro-mobility more inclusive across consumer segments, use cases, environments and price points.

“With the growing demand for more mobility options in urban and cosmopolitan cities, micro-mobility offers an affordable, convenient and infrastructure efficient alternative as it reduces the mobility tax we all face, increases local commerce and drives economic productivity. With the introduction of our e-bikes, residents and commuters in these launch areas will have access to a new, efficient and fun way to move, igniting impactful commerce across their communities. We are thrilled to partner with RAKTA in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE and ASPIRE Zone in Doha, Qatar to provide residents with integrated solutions that aid in sustainable travel.”

FENIX’s investments to increase affordable and accessible electric mobility connected with public transport are catalyzing local commerce and economic empowerment across the region.

With transportation being the top contributor of carbon emissions and all GCC markets in the top 15 in per capita emissions, accelerating the transition to electric mobility is a vital initiative to achieve the region’s sustainability goals.

FENIX operates the largest electric vehicle fleet in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT) with over 10,000 vehicles. The introduction of e-bikes further confirms FENIX’s commitment to the electric movement in the region.

The electric mobility leader’s e-bikes showcase the highest quality and durability to ensure users experience a comfortable ride and each e-bike has a range of 75 km on a single battery charge, allowing users to travel longer distances. The vehicles are also equipped with fast wireless charging smartphone holders for easy access to directions while riding, and built-in NFC readers for potential tap-to-pay integrations in the future.
