Mistral, a French AI company that specializes in open-weight large language models, has launched iOS and Android apps for its ‘Le Chat’ AI assistant.
The AI chatbot, which was previously available only as web version, has now been expanding across other platforms. Le Chat, powered by Mistral’s large language models (LLMs), has an array of features such as answering general queries, performing web searches, accepting multimodal input, generating images based on user prompts, and executing code in a secure, sandboxed environment.
In addition to the launch, Le Chat’s web version has also been upgraded. Mistral has not yet launched voice mode for users to carry out spoken quarries. Furthermore, the company has unveiled two new subscription tiers for its chatbot with better AI models and higher rate limits.
With the introduction of chatbot app on iOS and Android, Mistral aims to establish itself as a major competitor to leading AI chatbots like Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Microsoft’s Copilot, and Anthropic’s Claude.
While all leading chatbots can answer queries, generate images, perform web searches, and engage in conversion, Mistral’s Le Chat stand out for its exceptional speed and quality. According to Mistral, the company leverages the fastest inference engines on the planet and can generate up to 1,000 words per second.
Paris-based Mistral, established in 2023, is known for its outstanding AI models, such as Mixtral 8x7b, which is one of Mistral AI’s most remarkable models. It is faster and outperforms many similar cutting-edge models, transforming the world of natural language processing (NLP).
