OMODA & JAECOO plans to introduce its AI-powered driverless parking system, Valet Parking Driver (VPD), on select models in the UAE as part of its intelligent mobility strategy.
The VPD system enables vehicles to autonomously manoeuvre, identify available parking spaces and park without driver intervention, offering a hands-free parking solution designed for urban environments and smart city ecosystems.
The technology was recently demonstrated on the JAECOO J7 SHS during the Beijing Auto Show and the Chery International Business Summit, where the company showcased its latest developments in AI-enabled mobility and intelligent transportation technologies.
The planned introduction comes as cities such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi continue expanding smart mobility infrastructure and experience growing vehicle traffic around shopping centers, commercial districts, airports and entertainment destinations, increasing demand for efficient parking solutions.
The system is also designed to improve convenience for motorists during the UAE’s summer months by reducing the need for drivers to navigate outdoor parking facilities in high temperatures.
