MoCI wins ‘Qatar Government Excellence Award’

Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has won the ‘Qatar Government Excellence Award’ on the sidelines of its participation in the Excellence Category for Ministries.

The Qatar Government Excellence Award intends to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the governmental sector and the services it provides to customers to meet the needs of the Qatari society and build a flexible governmental sector while maintaining the quality of performance.

According to the statement, it also seeks to qualify human talents to fulfill future needs and possess the necessary skills and capabilities.

The Qatar Government Excellence Award was launched based on Amiri decision No. (63) of 2023 issued by HH Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in August to enhance the quality of government performance and encourage government agencies to compete in applying quality, development, and excellence in their performance by honoring outstanding achievements and efforts that contribute to achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to take the State of Qatar to advanced levels capable of achieving sustainable development and ensuring the lasting of decent living for its people and future generation.

Qatar Government Excellence Award encompasses four main pillars including entrepreneurship, qualitative and institutional value, as well as the outcomes and impact. These pillars cover 10 basic metrics and 38 sub-criteria for evaluation.

According to the statement, “The Leadership Award in comprehensive experience went to the Ministry of Municipality for its pioneering practices in providing services and its adoption of effective work systems to manage complaints and suggestions on its services, as well as its endeavor to develop an exceptional experience for customers and employ modern technologies in providing services.”
