Qatar & Turkey sign MoUs at 9th Supreme Strategic Committee

Qatar_Turkey sign MoUs

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of Qatar, and the President of Republic of Turkiye Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan have witnessed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries at Lusail Palace.

The MoUs were signed on the sidelines of the ninth meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee. His Highness the Amir and President Erdogan witnessed the signing of total of 9 significant MoUs including;

Political Relations

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Turkiye signed an MoU on bilateral cooperation and to conduct political consultations on issues of common interest.

Labour

An MoU was signed between the Ministry of Labour of Qatar and the Ministry of Labour and the Social Security in Turkiye.

Defense

Both governments has signed an MoU to cooperate on the defense and military framework.

Humanitarian

Qatar’s Charitable Activities Regulatory Authority and the Turkish Ministry of Interior signed agreement for cooperation in the field of humanitarian field.

Culture

Qatar and Turkey signed MoU for cooperation in the cultural field for the year 2024-2025.

Finance

An MoU was signed by Qatari Ministry of Finance and Turkish Ministry of Finance and Treasury.

Education

  • Strategic agreement between Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the council of the Turkish Scientific Research and Technology Center.
  • An MoU signed for scientific cooperation between Hamad Bin Khalifa University and the Turkish Academy of Sciences.
  • The cooperation protocol between Lusail University in Qatar and the Ministry of National Education in Turkiye to establish the Turkish-Turkish Teaching Center.

Communication and Information Technology

An MoU was signed between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Qatar and the Ministry of Industry and Technology in Turkiye for cooperation in the field of communications and information technology.

Investment

An MoU of cooperation in the field of investment promotion between the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Investment Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkiye, and a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation.
