QDB’s Jahiz initiative seeks applications from SMEs pushing for growth

Qatar Development Bank (QDB) has opened receiving applications for the initiative to lease complete and ready-to-operate industrial facilities known as Jahiz.

Jahiz aims to support manufacturing facilities in Qatar by leasing fully equipped factories for manufacturing as part of its efforts to aid the industrial sector and all entrepreneurs, as well as provide the necessary infrastructure for any medium or small industrial company to set up and operate.

QDB seeks to help SMEs by providing ready-made factories with a large capacity to begin setup and operation in a short period, making “Jahiz” the ideal option for any business owner with big industrial goals.

In addition to 40 completely equipped industrial facilities that deliver services in the best possible way, Jahiz offers a specified incubation period at reasonable discounted prices that benefit everyone.

QDB requires that the applicants must have experience in management and capability to understand financials of the business, be familiar with the industry, know the inputs and outputs of the production process, knowledge of the market, have a future vision for the company, their business add to the Qatari supply chain and produce products that are important to the country, need of Jahiz facility to survive in the market, and fulfill the requirements of the Small and Medium Scale Industrial Area (SMSIA) of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The shortlisted applicants are chosen by QDB, who then meet with a panel of decision-makers for final selection. Priority is given to projects that will yield innovative and environment-friendly products according to the national development priorities.

The Jahiz initiative is one of QDB’s elevated incubation programs, which has gained a significant following among industrial entrepreneurs in recent years and resulted in the launch of numerous successful industrial projects in Qatar.
