Riyadh Air has confirmed Cairo as a new destination within its growing international network, with daily flights from Riyadh set to launch soon aboard its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

The airline recently completed its ‘Pathway to Perfect’ operational readiness program and is expected to take delivery of its first aircraft in the coming weeks. Commercial services to London, Dubai, and Cairo are scheduled to follow shortly thereafter.

The Cairo route forms part of Riyadh Air’s broader strategy to position Riyadh as a leading global aviation hub, directly supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification agenda.

Strategic high-demand route

Cairo has been selected as an early destination due to strong passenger demand and its strategic importance within the region.

The Riyadh–Cairo corridor is among the busiest air routes globally, recording approximately 2.7 million passengers last year. The daily service is expected to cater to business travelers, tourists, and pilgrims, strengthening connectivity between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

“The launch of our commercial service to Cairo marks a true beginning of our journey to connect Riyadh to the world and the world to Riyadh. This route has been carefully selected to serve a key market that aligns with our ambition to become a global destination and a significant contributor to Vision 2030. We look forward to welcoming our guests aboard our state-of-the-art Dreamliners to experience our distinctive Saudi hospitality and redefine the future of air travel.”

Supporting tourism and economic growth

The expansion underlines Riyadh Air’s ambition to contribute meaningfully to Saudi Arabia’s tourism and economic growth objectives.

Alongside network expansion, Riyadh Air has introduced ‘Sfeer,’ a new digital-native loyalty program designed to reward frequent travelers.

The program aims to offer competitive fares and points accrual from launch, reinforcing the airline’s customer-centric strategy.

Riyadh is rapidly emerging as a dynamic center for business, culture, and entertainment, while Cairo remains a major regional gateway known for its historical heritage and commercial significance.

Egypt’s tourism appeal has been further strengthened by landmark developments such as the recently inaugurated Grand Egyptian Museum, adding momentum to travel demand between the two capitals.
