Saudi Arabia & Microsoft explore cooperation in educational sector

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al Al-Sheikh has discussed ways of cooperation in the educational sector with the Executive Vice President of the Education Sector at Microsoft in the United Kingdom, Mr. Rick Herrmann.

The meeting was held on the sideline of Dr. Al-Sheikh’s participation in the International Education Forum 2022, which is currently being held in London, with the participation of a large number of ministers of education from countries around the world.

The Saudi Minister of Education and Mr. Herrmann have discussed aspects of cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Microsoft, especially in the field of educational software, transferring knowledge and enabling future generations to achieve more innovation and technical knowledge.

Further, they discussed about the digital educational transformation, as well as supporting students and educational cadres in the stages of public and university education to learn programming, which contributes to keeping pace with the global technology boom and acceleration in this field, in accordance with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

According to the statement, “The meeting also touched upon supporting work to achieve the best technical services, and providing better integration options to integrate services within the platforms of the Ministry of Education, especially “My School” platform, as well as access to data and the ability to analyze it.”

Last week, the Ministry of Education submitted the public education draft law for public opinion on the online platform of the National Competitiveness Center. The draft law intends to organize all related aspects of public education in a manner that raises the level of the learning process to achieve the highest quality in education and improve its outcomes in terms of scientific and skill-related sides.
