Bahrain’s Ministry of Sustainable Development and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Economy and Planning have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), strengthening cooperation in sustainable development.
The MoU was signed during fourth meeting of the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
The MoU was signed by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, the Bahrain’s Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, and Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia.
The agreement aims to boost partnerships in sustainable development through the exchange of expertise and capacity building, raising public awareness on key sustainability issues, implementing forward-looking policies, and implementing joint programs and initiatives curated to support national future visions, strengthen institutional capabilities, and advance sustainable economic growth and long-term prosperity in both countries.
Minister Alkhulaif emphasized that the deep-rooted ties between the nations and highlighted the importance of advancing partnership and coordination to achieve more integrated cooperation across multiple sectors. She highlighted that the strengthening collaboration, particularly in sustainable development, is essential to supporting the shared goals, aspirations, and long-term visions of both nations.
The coordination council, held in Manama, serves as a high-level platform aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The council focuses on advancing joint initiatives across key sectors such as economic development, security, investment, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
