The Saudi Bahraini Investment Company (SBIC), a PIF company, has signed an agreement with Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, aiming to expand opportunities of investment cooperation between the two parties.
The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the fourth meeting of the Saudi Bahraini Coordination Council, is subject to satisfying certain requirements, including performing the necessary due diligence.
The SBIC-Mumtalakat deal seeks to establish a joint investment program, focused on opportunities that contribute to economic growth and address the increasing demand for goods and services in both the Saudi and Bahraini markets. It includes investing in existing companies with strong expansion potential and launch of new projects.
The joint investment opportunities will span several strategic sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including information technology, media and telecommunications, financial services, education, logistics, advanced construction materials, manufacturing, infrastructure, aerospace services and real estate.
The deal aligns with the Saudi Bahraini Investment Company’s strategy to identify investment opportunities and build long-term partnerships that generate sustainable returns and support development across the Saudi and Bahraini markets.
It also reflects PIF’s commitment to driving economic transformation in Saudi Arabia and contributing to regional and global growth. Likewise, the agreement supports Mumtalakat’s efforts to advance economic diversification, enhance local impact, and create job opportunities.
The Saudi Bahraini Coordination Council was held in Manama, co-chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, and Kingdom of Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The Saudi Bahraini Investment Company, established in 2022, is a part of PIF’s regional investment strategy. It opened an office in Manama to help the private sector expand investments across both markets. This agreement follows the signing of an MoU between PIF and Mumtalakat in March 2024, to broaden cooperation opportunities.
