The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has held a meeting with the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Republic of South Sudan to explore ways of strengthening industrial and mining cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was held between Bandar Alkhorayef and Atong Kuol Juuk on the sidelines of the 11th Ministerial Conference of Least Developed Countries (LDCMC11), hosted in Riyadh.
The Saudi-Sudan meeting reviewed opportunities to advance industrial and mining relations and discussed prospects for South Sudan to benefit from the Kingdom’s experience in developing and operating smart industrial cities, as well as in expanding the food processing sector.

They also examined avenues for enhanced cooperation in the mining and minerals fields to help reinforce the resilience of global supply chains. The meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Eng Khalil Ibn Salamah, Ambassador of the Republic of South Sudan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mayom Alier, and several officials from both sides.
The discussions coincided with the convening of LDCMC11, organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, to facilitate access to finance, promote the exchange of knowledge and technology, stimulate trade, and support the integration of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) into regional and global value chains.
