Riyadh will host the 12th session of the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee tomorrow on December 28, organized by the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, to advance bilateral economic cooperation, strengthen strategic ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Tunisia
This Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee aims to explore new opportunities for collaboration across various economic, industrial, and development sectors, with the goal of further enhancing the partnership between the two nations.
The Saudi delegation will be led by Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, while the Tunisian delegation will be headed by Minister of Economy and Planning Dr. Samir Abdelhafidh. Senior officials from relevant government agencies of both nations will also participate in the discussions.
The key agenda of Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee focuses on strengthening cooperation in sectors such as industry, mining, tourism, transportation, logistics, and justice. The session aims to explore investment opportunities, expand bilateral trade, and improve market access for Saudi products in North Africa, with particular emphasis on fostering collaboration in key sectors to create mutually beneficial partnerships.
Founded in 1998, the Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee is the main framework for strategic cooperation, translating bilateral goals into actionable programs that strengthen cooperation and joint efforts.
In 2024, non-oil trade between Saudi Arabia and Tunisia reached $298 million (SAR1.12 billion), growing at an average annual rate of 1.78 percent from 2019 to 2024. This growth underscores the potential to further enhance economic ties and accelerate trade through the committee’s work.
Earlier in November, Saudi Minister Bandar Alkhorayef and Tunisian Minister Samir Abdelhafid has met at the 21st UNIDO General Conference in Riyadh. They discussed boosting industrial integration, expanding investment, and sharing expertise on industrial cities and factories. The meeting also reviewed preparations for the upcoming Saudi-Tunisian Joint Committee session, underscoring strong bilateral coordination.
