UAE has been ranked first in the Arab world and 31st globally in the remote working index released by the UK-based Circle Loop.

Further, the country has ranked second among the best countries, for the speed and efficiency of internet connections. The country has reached this position by surpassing Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, Ireland, Malaysia, Russia, the USA, and China.

UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Teleworking Applications, Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama has stated that the Government led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has become an inspiring role model for those governments trying to step into the future.

Mr. Al Olama added that this was due to the efforts of the government to translate the visions and directives of His Highness for sustainable development, the adoption of forward-looking thinking, and innovation that helps the government to strengthen its global leadership and serve the nation efficiently and effectively, reflecting the reason for the continued achievements of the government.

“Over the past year, the world has witnessed great changes brought about by repercussions from the Coronavirus pandemic, which were reflected in all aspects of life”, Mr. Al Olama said.

He further highlighted the importance of governments’ ability to respond rapidly to sudden and urgent changes, indicating that, through the adoption of a proactive and deliberate approach, the UAE Government was able to ensure the continuation of services while protecting the health and safety of human resources by allowing 95 percent of workers to work remotely.
