Uber has launched a new initiative offering discounted rides to selected neighborhood destinations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, aiming to support local businesses, boost community engagement, and make it easier for residents and visitors to explore key cultural, retail, and lifestyle hubs in both cities.
The campaign provides riders with 20 percent off trips to designated areas using promo codes SUPPORTLOCALDXB for Dubai and SUPPORTLOCALAD for Abu Dhabi. The offer runs from April 3 to April 7.
In Dubai, the discounted destinations include Alserkal Avenue, Wasl Square, Al Seef, Marsa Boulevard, The Square Nad Al Sheba Gardens, Springs Souk and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. In Abu Dhabi, the offer applies to Marsa Al Bateen and Miza.
The initiative is designed to drive footfall to neighborhood hubs, including independent eateries, retail outlets, cultural districts and lifestyle destinations, which contribute to the local economy.
By offering reduced fares to these locations, Uber aims to make travel more accessible while supporting homegrown businesses and community-focused spaces across both cities.
Tala Nsouli General Manager Uber UAE
“This initiative reflects Uber’s commitment to supporting local communities by connecting people not just to places, but to the businesses and experiences that shape the city. By making it easier to get there, we hope to encourage people to discover places and support homegrown businesses that are the heartbeat of our cities.”
Separately, Uber said it recently introduced a driver-focused incentive across the UAE, matching all in-app tips of $2.72 (AED 10) or more. The move effectively doubled additional earnings for drivers without increasing costs for riders, with the aim of encouraging community support and boosting driver income during a busy period.
