The World Economic Forum (WEF) has signed agreements to launch three new Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in 2025, further strengthening its global leadership in driving transformative change through technology.

The Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) are a global network of hubs established by the World Economic Forum (WEF) to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies and help address critical societal challenges. These centers focus on key areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, data policy, and the Internet of Things (IoT), among others.

C4IRs collaborate with governments, businesses, and experts to design and implement policies, frameworks, and solutions that harness the potential of emerging technologies for social good. Each center is strategically located in regions around the world, with a mission to support innovation and enable governments and industries to navigate the complexities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The WEF announced that the C4IR United Arab Emirates has been renewed. The upcoming centers in Muscat, Pretoria, and Riyadh will tackle critical global challenges with innovative solutions tailored to national and regional needs.

These announcements are accompanied by the release of the Forum’s C4IR Network 2023-2024 Impact Report, which showcases how the growing global network is driving technological solutions to address humanity’s most urgent challenges.

Børge Brende, President and CEO of WEF, said that, “The upcoming launches of three new C4IR Centers underscores our commitment to shaping a future where technology better serves humanity. Together, with our growing network of global partners, we will continue to harness the power of innovation to address society’s most pressing challenges and create localized solutions with global reach.”
