The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority and Maximus Air has signed a cooperation agreement at the Dubai Airshow 2025 to enhance and support the aerial transport system used for search and rescue missions during disasters and emergencies.

This agreement forms part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to develop the emergency response system and enhance the readiness of the UAE Search and Rescue Team by equipping it with the necessary aerial capabilities for international and field missions.

These include transporting specialized teams and essential equipment to affected areas, supporting critical medical evacuation operations, and ensuring the comprehensive logistical support required for a rapid, coordinated, and effective emergency response.

The signing ceremony brought together a distinguished group of leaders and experts in aviation and relief operations. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Authority by Brigadier Muzafar Mohammed Al Ameri, Acting Director of the Rescue and Firefighting Sector and Commander of the UAE Search and Rescue Team, and on behalf of the company by Samer Ramadan, Chief Executive Officer of Maximus Air. The ceremony was also attended by Nader Al Hammadi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, and Mahmoud Al Hay Al Hameli, Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group.

The Authority stated that its partnership with Maximus Air represents a significant milestone in expanding strategic cooperation with the private sector and harnessing the company’s specialized operational capabilities and aviation expertise. This collaboration, it added, will boost flexibility and rapid response during crises and disasters while enhancing the team’s capacity to conduct humanitarian and relief missions with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Under the agreement, Maximus Air will deliver specialized air transport services to support the missions of the UAE Search and Rescue Team. These will include transporting personnel, equipment, and vehicles to affected areas, conducting medical evacuation operations, and delivering humanitarian aid. The initiative will be reinforced by the company’s extensive experience, round-the-clock operational center, and a versatile air fleet capable of carrying up to 120 tons of cargo.

These capabilities will empower the team to respond swiftly and effectively to a wide range of humanitarian and relief missions, further strengthening the UAE’s role and leadership in global humanitarian efforts.
