Ministry of Works of the Kingdom of Bahrain has commenced development and infrastructure upgrade works on Road 2904 in Block 329 in the Salmaniya area of the Capital Governorate as part of ongoing efforts to modernize Bahrain’s road network and improve traffic safety in densely populated areas.
Hamad Ibrahim Badow, Director of Roads Projects and Maintenance at the ministry, said the project covers the stretch adjacent to Salmaniya Medical Complex and Arabian Gulf University.
The development extends from Salmaniya Avenue in the north to King Abdulaziz Road in the south over a distance of approximately 600 meters.
Badow said the Road 2904 development initiative forms part of the ministry’s wider infrastructure development plans aimed at enhancing traffic efficiency, improving road safety standards and supporting urban mobility across vital areas in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He added that the Road 2904 project is designed to improve traffic flow in the busy Salmaniya district by reorganizing existing parking areas, increasing the number of parking spaces and reducing irregular roadside parking that often contributes to congestion and traffic disruptions.

The works include the reconstruction and upgrading of road infrastructure, relocation and protection of underground utility services, installation of a new drainage network, construction of pavements and designated parking areas, and the installation of traffic signs, directional indicators and updated road markings.
The ministry said the project is expected to improve accessibility around key service facilities in the area, particularly near healthcare and educational institutions, while contributing to safer and more efficient road usage for motorists and pedestrians.
The ministry also urged drivers and road users to adhere to traffic signs and follow instructions in and around the construction zone to ensure public safety and facilitate smooth traffic movement throughout the implementation period.
