The Capital Trustees Board has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (BKIC) to develop and maintain Seef Park, marking a new public-private partnership aimed at upgrading municipal services and enhancing urban infrastructure in the Capital Governorate of Bahrain.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Bahraini Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, underscoring the government’s continued focus on strengthening collaboration with the private sector to improve public facilities and service delivery standards.

Under the terms of the agreement, BKIC will be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of Seef Park, which covers an area of approximately 5,770 square metres. The project aims to significantly improve the park’s facilities, enhance its overall services, and upgrade its role within the urban landscape of the Capital Governorate.
Officials stated that the initiative is designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of the park’s infrastructure while also improving the quality of recreational spaces available to residents and visitors.
Role of public-private partnerships
Speaking at the signing, the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture emphasized that the agreement aligns with broader national efforts to strengthen partnerships with the private sector. According to the minister, such collaborations are key to increasing the efficiency of municipal services and ensuring that public facilities are developed in line with modern urban and environmental standards.
He added that projects of this nature contribute directly to improving the quality of life by providing well-maintained, accessible, and sustainable public spaces.
Seef Park upgrade to support urban, recreational development
The redevelopment and maintenance of Seef Park is expected to position the facility as a key recreational destination within the Capital Governorate. The project also supports ongoing efforts by authorities to enhance infrastructure, expand green spaces, and improve recreational services for the public.
By upgrading the park’s facilities and maintenance systems, the initiative is expected to contribute to a more attractive and sustainable urban environment in one of Bahrain’s key districts.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Bahrain Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, members of the Capital Trustees Board, and representatives from BKIC, reflecting institutional support for the project and its implementation under the public-private partnership framework.
