Bahrain’s Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has approved payment channels for the fees associated with the Labor Registration Program.

The Labor Market Regulatory Authority is a government body in Bahrain with a corporate identity endowed with full financial and administrative independence under the authority of a board of directors chaired by the Minister of Labor.

Payments are now accepted through cash dispensing machines and online payment channels, according to the statement. This is in line with efforts to facilitate the payment process and increase the available payment options for the Labor Registration Program.

The LMRA previously affirmed that the program is being launched in cooperation with the private sector and will streamline the process of registering for an occupation. The new measures will link work permits to vocational and occupational standards to increase safety and protections in places of work.

LMRA noted that “cash payments are now accepted through cash dispensing machines located in LMRA’s Sitra branch, any of the approved registration centers in various governates, and through all Bahrain Financing Company (BFC) branches.”

Online payments can be made through BenefitPay’s Fawateer services and Bahrain Financing Company online channels.

As per the statement, “The registered workers will be able to work in specialized occupations after obtaining a license. Registered workers will be given a work permit card with a QR Code that includes the worker’s updated data, including the type of permit, the occupation the worker is authorized to practice, the validity of the permit, health insurance details, and the name of the registration center. Registered workers will need to pay the set fees at approved payment centers to process the registration.”

LMRA urges all registered workers to commit to the above payment process and makes the necessary payments in the prescribed time to avoid fines and permit cancellations.
