The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in talent development and improve connections between academic education and industry requirements.
The agreement focuses on providing students and young professionals with practical experience, industry knowledge, and skills required for careers in Qatar’s financial sector.
Under the MoU, QFC will offer internship opportunities to QFBA’s Northumbria University students, enabling them to gain workplace experience within the financial industry.
The collaboration will also include lectures, seminars, workshops, career fairs, and other academic and professional activities focused on knowledge exchange between industry and academia.
QFC and QFBA will also collaborate on the Takween Excellence Award Program, which supports high-performing Qatari undergraduate students studying disciplines related to the development of Qatar’s financial sector and economy.
Mansoor Rashid Al Khater, Chief Executive Officer of QFC, said that developing skilled national talent is an important element of Qatar National Vision 2030 and efforts to support economic growth.
Al Khater added that the partnership with QFBA will provide students and professionals with opportunities to develop industry-relevant skills and practical experience, while also supporting training initiatives for QFC firms.
Khalifa Al Salahi Al Yafei, Chief Executive Officer of QFBA, remarked that the MoU will strengthen cooperation between education providers and the financial sector by connecting academic learning with workplace requirements.
Al Yafei noted that the collaboration will help students and young professionals gain industry exposure, improve career readiness, and contribute to the continued growth of Qatar’s financial sector.
The partnership supports efforts to develop a skilled workforce and promote a knowledge-based economy in Qatar.
