An Omani delegation has begun a three-day visit to Algeria to discuss bilateral cooperation and explore partnership opportunities in communications, information technology, and digital transformation.
The delegation is led by Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology.
The group includes officials from the Ministry, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, and representatives of several Omani technology companies.
The visit aims to expand cooperation between the two countries through the exchange of expertise and the development of joint initiatives in the digital sector.
The program began with a meeting between the Omani delegation and Mariam Ben Mouloud, Algeria’s Minister of Digital Affairs, during which the two sides discussed cooperation in digital transformation and communications.
The meeting also covered national digital initiatives and opportunities for collaboration between the relevant institutions in both countries.
The Algerian side presented several projects managed by the High Commission for Digitalization, including the National Strategy for Digital Transformation, digital infrastructure initiatives, and the Algerian National Center for Digital Services.
The discussions included an overview of Algeria’s digital programs and areas where the two countries could exchange knowledge and experience.
The Omani delegation outlined the National Digital Economy Program, the Government Digital Transformation Program, and national initiatives related to artificial intelligence.

Representatives of Omani technology companies also presented digital solutions and services in artificial intelligence, digital government, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development.
The visit provides an opportunity for Omani companies to engage with organizations in Algeria and explore potential cooperation in the technology sector.
According to the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, the visit forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation between Oman and Algeria in communications and information technology. It also supports the exchange of expertise and the development of partnerships in digital transformation.
The visit also supports the expansion of Omani technology companies into regional and international markets and promotes the growth of the information technology sector and digital exports.
