Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), in collaboration with Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and Gulf Air, has launched international marketing campaigns to promote the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 while attracting international visitors to the region.
The campaigns mostly attracted the motorsport fans from GCC countries and Europe, selling thousands of tickets. Provided through international tour operators, the travel packages included flights, hotel stays, race tickets, and guided visits to cultural sites such as Jaradah Island and historic landmarks.
Sarah Ahmed Buhejji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), emphasized BTEA’s ongoing efforts to cement Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for sports tourism, in line with the national tourism strategy (2022–2026). Top tour operators from the United Kingdom, Germany, and China were invited to attend the event to foster international tourism.
Buhejji also stressed that the BTEA’s pavilion in the race’s fan zone will showcase Bahraini cultural experiences such as traditional hospitality, henna, falconry, Arabic calligraphy, and basket weaving, along with displays on upcoming tourism projects.
Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of BIC, stated that the Grand Prix’s continued success highlights its close cooperation between public and private sectors, strengthening Bahrain’s position as a leading organizer of global sporting events.
Al Khalifa further added that the race’s achievements are the result of long-term planning, with robust support from national entities and Gulf Air’s sponsorship helping advance motorsport and support the goals of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
Moreover, Shaikh Salman bin Isa acknowledged BTEA’s role in promoting the Grand Prix, underscoring that effective campaigns and international partnerships have helped attract tens of thousands of visitors annually, boosting Bahrain’s tourism and offering a unique cultural experience.
