Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) and the Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) have signed a partnership agreement to host the next three editions of the biennial International Downstream Conference and Exhibition (IDCE) in Bahrain.
The agreement was signed by Sara Ahmed Buhiji, Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain, and Bassam Al Bokhari, Secretary General of the Gulf Downstream Association.
Under the agreement, Exhibition World Bahrain will host three consecutive editions of IDCE, a conference and exhibition focused on the downstream refining and petrochemicals industry.
Sara Ahmed Buhiji said that the partnership supports Bahrain’s efforts to attract international business events and reflects confidence in Exhibition World Bahrain’s infrastructure and event-hosting capabilities.
Buhiji added that the agreement is in line with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority’s strategy to attract international conferences and exhibitions that contribute to the country’s tourism and economic sectors, while supporting the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.
Bassam Al Bokhari emphasized that the Gulf Downstream Association will continue its partnership with Exhibition World Bahrain following the successful organization of previous editions of IDCE in the Kingdom.
Al Bokhari noted that the agreement will support the continued development of the event as a platform for companies, industry leaders, and technical experts to discuss developments in the downstream refining and petrochemicals sector. He remarked that the conference and exhibition will continue to facilitate industry collaboration, knowledge sharing, and discussions on innovation in the sector.
The agreement builds on the cooperation between Exhibition World Bahrain and the Gulf Downstream Association following previous editions of IDCE held in Bahrain.
It also supports Exhibition World Bahrain’s strategy to establish long-term partnerships with regional and international event organizers and expand Bahrain’s business events sector through international conferences and exhibitions.
