Clemenceau Medical Center Hospital (CMC), one of Dubai’s best hospitals, has received official accreditation from the Joint Commission International Health Care Quality (JCI) within two years of its launch.

This achievement is the result of the continuous efforts of the UAE Government to establish the country as the number one destination for medical tourism.

Clemenceau Medical Center was distinguished by the application of a standard criterion for obtaining this accreditation. CMC complied 99.5 percent with 285 standard requirements for 1160 measurable components set by JCI re-accreditation.

Clemenceau Medical Center was given JCI accreditation following a diligent onsite evaluation conducted earlier in March by an international survey team of health care professionals. The surveyors spent four days interviewing staff and hospital leaders to learn more about policies and procedures. In addition to evaluating each department separately, they also conducted extensive assessments of health care, nursing, and medical standards.

The assessment focused on the hospital building and its various facilities, as well as the equipment and services used, the patient’s safety and rights, the existing procedures within the hospital, the criteria for preventing infections caused by surgical procedures, and the criteria for medication use by the medical staff and nursing staff.

In their assessment, the experts followed an approach that tracked the stages from hospital admission to discharge that a patient passes through, carefully evaluating patient records and conducting interviews with the responsible medical staff.

Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Mounes Kalaawi, Chairman of Clemenceau Medicine International and CEO of Clemenceau Medical Center Hospitals Group, commented: “It is a matter of pride that Clemenceau Medical Center Dubai is accredited by the Joint Commission International in Healthcare Quality (JCI). This certificate is conclusive evidence of the leadership and excellence that characterizes the center through its application of all international standards and its adoption of the principles of quality, excellence, and sophistication. Today, this accreditation comes as a culmination of our achievements and an encouragement for us to move forward in our quest to continue the legacy we have achieved over twenty years of diligent work to provide the best in healthcare in the Arab world and beyond.”

“We are proud of the standards of excellence and leadership adopted by Clemenceau Center Hospital Dubai, providing an integrated set of high-quality healthcare services in the implementation of the vision of the United Arab Emirates to be at the forefront in providing healthcare of the highest international standards for citizens and residents, and a leading destination in medical treatment and medical tourism for all countries in the region.” Mr. Kalaawi added.
