The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) now enable electric vehicle owners to charge them by just scanning a QR code.

DEWA announced today that the EV (electric vehicle) Green Charger customers can charge their cars using the DEWA app, by scanning the QR codes in 240 charging stations placed across the city.

The EV Green Charger customers also can use their Green Charger Card at the charging stations of DEWA. The Green Charger was launched in 2015 to promote sustainable transportation with electric vehicles in Dubai.

DEWA is also providing a free charge incentive until December 2021, for the non-commercial customers registered in the EV Green Charger service and this is only applicable at public charging stations.

This initiative is a part of the efforts of DEWA to bring smart services inspired by the latest technologies around the world that would ensure ease for customers in fulfilling their transactions at any time, anywhere easily and safely.
