Dubai Customs strengthens trade cooperation with Kuwait’s PAI

Dubai Customs has discussed strengthening cooperation with a senior Kuwaiti delegation headed by His Excellency Abdulkarim Taqi, Director-General, Public Authority for Industry (PAI).

Mr. Mansoor Al-Malik, executive director for the policies and legislation Division at Dubai Customs received the Kuwaiti delegation, and the meeting was attended by Mr. Majid Al Ali, Director of Customs Declarations Department, Manager of Customs Procedures Section, Mr. Khawla Humaid from Corporate Communication Department, as well as a number of Kuwaiti businessmen and traders.

Mr. Al-Malik reviewed the latest developments and new projects at Dubai Customs and their role in facilitating global trade and investment.

The meeting also discussed the role of Dubai Customs’ Policy and Legislation Division in establishing policies on value, customs tariffs and origin, and the protection of intellectual property rights in accordance with local and international requirements, as well as representing Dubai Customs before local authorities and external organizations such as the World Customs Organization (WCO), the World Trade Organization (WTO), and other relevant individuals.

The Kuwaiti delegation’s visit reflects the two parties’ commitment to boost cooperation in trade and economic sectors, exchange experiences, discuss available opportunities and ways to encourage investments and increase trade exchanges between Dubai and Kuwait.

HE Taqi said that the visit is part of the Kuwaiti participation in EXPO 2020 Dubai through the Kuwaiti Industry Week and it aims to enhance ties between the brotherly countries, especially with Dubai Customs which has showcased outstanding performance by providing stellar customs services to support the flexibility and sustainability of supply chains.
