Google has launched a major update to its Gemini app and platform as part of the October 2025 Gemini Drop, introducing new features and enhancements aimed at improving user experience and functionality.
The latest updates focus on simplifying complex tasks, improving video creation, and integrating deeper with Google services like Google TV.
October Feature Drop: Gemini Canvas, Veo 3.1 and More
According to Google’s official blog, the October feature drop introduces exciting new updates to the app. Notably, the Veo 3.1 update allows users to create videos with realistic textures, while also offering improved camera control and the ability to add dialogues with sound effects.
A standout feature in this update is Canvas, which allows users to quickly generate full presentations. By simply adding a topic or uploading a source file, Canvas automatically creates themed slides, relevant visuals, and layouts. Users can then export the presentation to Google Slides for further editing. This feature is currently available to Pro subscribers, with Free users gaining access in the coming weeks.
In addition, Gemini 2.5 Flash now offers step-by-step guidance for tackling complex topics. Users will benefit from more organized responses and enhanced image recognition, making it easier to interpret notes or diagrams and provide clearer, more accurate answers to queries.
The October update also introduces enhanced LaTeX functionality to Gemini on the web. Users can now easily copy formulas, edit them directly within Canvas, and download the project as a PDF, streamlining the process for those working with complex mathematical expressions.
The latest Gemini Drop also expands the AI’s capabilities beyond productivity tasks. With the new Gemini for Google TV feature, users can now engage in conversational queries to receive personalized recommendations on what to watch. Additionally, the update allows users to get answers to their questions, complete with relevant YouTube videos for further context.
