Qatar’s General Tax Authority and the Federal Tax Service of Russia have discussed ways to expand coordination, particularly in implementing modern digital technologies in tax administration.

The General Tax Authority held a virtual meeting with the Federal Tax Service of Russia, as part of joint efforts to strengthen technical cooperation and exchange expertise in modern tax policies and procedures.

The meeting was chaired by Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Al Kuwari, President of the General Tax Authority, and Daniil Egorov, Commissioner of the Federal Tax Service of Russia.

Both parties highlighted the critical importance of exchanging experiences and best practices in tax compliance, with a shared commitment to aligning with international standards. This collaborative approach aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tax services while ensuring they evolve in step with rapid advancements in digital transformation.

According to the statement, the meeting also featured a review of innovative Russian digital models and explored how such models could be adapted or integrated into Qatar’s tax infrastructure to accelerate the development of its digital tax ecosystem and support broader modernization goals.

The officials affirmed that this collaboration contributes to enhancing the efficiency of tax operations and promoting transparency, while also supporting the broader economic goals of both countries through improved business environments and more effective revenue collection.

This meeting falls within a strategic framework aimed at strengthening international cooperation, exploring knowledge transfer opportunities, and adopting advanced technological solutions aligned with sustainable development goals and the shared vision of building modern and integrated tax systems.
