According to Dr. Mostafa AlGuezeri, Managing Director of Hitachi ABB Power Grids, the company will continue to bring market solutions that will help expand access to efficient, secure, and sustainable energy in the UAE while also supporting the industry’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

“In the UAE, we serve our customers for the energy transition by combining capabilities across sustainable energy and advanced digital technologies. Being a key enabler in the future energy system, we master the full spectrum of technologies needed to supply electrical energy. Our solutions are designed as per the highest standards of safety, reliability, resiliency, and maintainability and tailored for harsh environments,” Dr. Al Guezeri added.

EconiQ is HitachinABB Power Grid’s portfolio of products, services, and solutions that have been proven to offer outstanding environmental results. With EconiQ , the global technology and market leader is reinforcing its commitment towards a carbon-neutral energy future.

As the partner of choice for enabling a stronger, smarter, and greener grid, the organization has pioneered many of the world’s technical breakthroughs in power transmission and distribution. The company has continuously invested to meet the rising demand for eco-efficient solutions among its customers and partners. This demand is closely linked to decarbonization targets as well as a rise in global electricity usage, which the industry predicts would more than double from 20 percent of total energy demand today to over 40 percent by 2050.

Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ EconiQ portfolio is sustainability-oriented in design to deliver superior environmental performance over traditional solutions. Its High Voltage Products business revealed the use of a game-changing substitute insulation gas for high-voltage devices, driving the introduction of an eco-efficient industry-standard alternative to sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).

The EconiQ high-voltage portfolio, which contains no SF6, replaces the company’s AirPlus products and has been shown to reduce CO2 emissions throughout the total lifecycle.
The man-made gas SF6 has unrivaled electrical insulation and current interruption properties.

In high-voltage switchgears, it is the most common. It has been widely used in the electrical industry for over 50 years due to its excellent electric properties. Hitachi ABB Power Grids promotes the use of a popular alternative insulation gas for high-voltage equipment with the launch of EconiQTM.

For its high-voltage portfolio, Hitachi ABB power Grids uses a variety of eco-efficient gas mixtures as an alternative to SF6.

“We have been developing eco-efficient technologies for over ten years and have the most extended field experience with SF6 alternative on the market. Together with our customers and partners, we are co-creating innovative solutions for accelerating the transition towards a sustainable energy future,” Mr. Claudio Fscchin CEO at Hitachi ABB Power Grids concluded.
