Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has launched direct flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), marking a significant expansion into the North American market.

The new route will commence on October 1, 2025, with Gulf Air operating three weekly flights to JFK using its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The announcement was made during the official visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to Washington DC.

Initially, services will be operated from JFK’s existing Terminal One. In June 2026, the airline plans to transition operations to the airport’s upcoming New Terminal One, enhancing the passenger experience with upgraded facilities that reflect Gulf Air’s premium service standards.

This expansion establishes a vital link between Bahrain and the United States, offering enhanced connectivity for business and leisure travelers alike. The direct service underscores the airline’s strategic vision to broaden its network and provide customers with more seamless travel options through Bahrain International Airport.
