Jazeera Airways, a leading low-cost carrier based in Kuwait, has successfully launched its first-ever direct flight between Kuwait and Sochi, Russia.
The flights to Sochi will operate twice a week, providing passengers from Kuwait and other parts of the region with direct access to Russia’s largest resort city. Sochi, also known as the ‘Russian Riviera’ and the ‘Black Sea Pearl,’ stands out for its breathtaking coastline, mountains and year-round appeal.
With this new service, Russian travelers can now connect through Jazeera Terminal 5 in Kuwait to over 60 destinations across the Middle East, South Asia, and Europe, including popular cities such as Dubai, Riyadh, Delhi, Mumbai, Istanbul, and Cairo.
The inaugural ceremony took place at Jazeera Terminal 5, opening a new air corridor between the Gulf and Russia’s Black Sea coast. Currently, Jazeera runs 13 non-stop flights between Kuwait and Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME).
Barathan Pasupathi CEO – Jazeera Airways
“We are proud to be the first and only airline offering a direct connection between Kuwait and Sochi. This route opens the door for travelers to explore one of Russia’s most attractive leisure destinations, while also enhancing connectivity across our growing network.”
The new route is expected to contribute to the growth of outbound tourism from the Gulf region to southern Russia. This can also pave the way for cultural exchange.
Recently, Jazeera Airways has launched its direct service between Kuwait and Budapest, Hungary, with flights operating twice a week. This marks the first-ever non-stop air connection between the two countries. The route provides travelers from Kuwait with access to one of Europe’s most striking capitals, known for its history, architecture, and thermal spas.
