Kuwait Agro Company has collaborated with the country’s first automated large-scale vertical farm from &ever, which exclusively distributes fresh greens and herbs.
The vertical farm cultivates a wide variety of fresh leafy greens and herbs that are pesticide-free, highly nutritious, and available all year under the &Ever Kuwait brand.
The vertical farm is acting to preserve the planet’s valuable resources for future generations while also changing the global food production system to satisfy consumers’ growing demand for healthy, nutritious food. This partnership will enable &ever Kuwait to be efficiently distributed across all retail outlets throughout the country, owing to Kuwait Agro’s solid and reliable distribution capabilities.
The Wafra-based farm is capable of producing up to 550 kilograms of fresh greens and herbs per day. &ever produces greens that are more nutrient-dense and safer for the environment by using 90 percent less water, 60 percent less fertilizer, and zero pesticides. With &ever’s a highly innovative technology, it is now possible to cultivate locally grown leafy greens while reducing CO2 emissions associated with importing fresh produce from other countries.
The greens are grown in a digitally controlled environment that monitors everything from seeding to harvesting, including CO2 levels, temperature, and airflow.
This controlled environment results in faster growth cycles, higher crop yields, and a “Farm to Fork” model, in which Kuwait Agro ensures everyday freshness by delivering produce from the farm to the shelf in under two hours.
This allows consumers to experience fresher, tastier, safer, and more nutritious products with a longer shelf life. &Ever hopes to build on the success of this partnership with Kuwait Agro by changing the way greens and herbs are grown and consumed with their plans to develop more sustainable farms across Africa and Asia.
