The UAE Ministry of Prevention and Health, (MoHAP) has launched the Public health management system as a measure to enhance the prevention and management of public health projects, as well as encouraging community and civil society organizations to participate in health promotion programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners.
The platform was developed in partnership with Etisalat, a technology partner, and Health Matrix. Etisalat will provide the Baxter ICNET, a clinical surveillance platform, while Health Matrix will be responsible for the management of the project governance and delivery.
The launch of the platform came on the sidelines of MoHAP’s participation at the Arab Health 2021. The new system has been designed to create a responsive health care environment as well as a sustainable healthcare system that adheres to global standards for health facility infrastructure management and promotes public health and disease prevention.
Dr. Hussein Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Health Centre and Clinics Sector said that “the Public Health Management system is part of the ministry’s strategy to improve community health and healthy behaviors, improve the interaction between patients and health practitioners so that they are aware of their disease and how to treat it.”
The Public health management will be equipped with health specialists and integrated tools to monitor and manage projects and activities, as well as improve their response to changing needs, resulting in a paradigm shift in the healthcare system.
The platform also includes the feature of rapid and accurate reporting on contagious diseases which would help professionals in decision making through the database and improve the health outcomes and rationalize healthcare spending.
