The digital service provider of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Moro Hub has joined with Facilio, a leading data-driven building operations and maintenance cloud platform, to improve the energy-saving policies in the region.

The partnership targets to launch Energy Management and Monitoring Services for commercial and residential buildings in the UAE and is in line with the Dubai 10X initiative.

Dubai 10X is the government’s vision to place the emirate 10 years ahead of other global cities by bringing innovation. The Dubai 10X initiative, launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to bring a comprehensive change in the government work system by joining with other government organizations in Dubai to adopt new models for future.

With the new cloud-based services the authority expects to bring down energy-related capital and operational expenses and to ensure asset reliability. It further offers a tailored approach to the efficient management of power in buildings by giving the asset owners the capability to control their digitized energy and assets network.

“Through this platform, we seek to highlight the role of technologies in maximizing power utilization in various infrastructures, including buildings and minimizing electricity consumption through higher operational efficiency of key structures and facilities. This commitment is according to our endeavors to promote energy efficiency in buildings and in line with DEWA’s intensified initiatives to decrease power consumption levels of Dubai’s buildings.”

The Energy Monitoring and Management service includes energy management, asset performance, fault detection and diagnostics, proactive maintenance management and measurement and verification.

The services will support the Internet of Things connectivity and distributed intelligence to confirm an improved and cost-effective performance of buildings and assets with the centrally monitored and controlled operational systems.

“By rolling out these services, facilities managers and owners can maximize uptime and operational efficiency, reduce cost, meet sustainability goals and enrich the overall occupant experience,” Bin Haidar stated.

Commenting on the partnership, the CEO and founder of Facilio Prabhu Ramachandran said, “This cloud-based service will unify disparate building systems and enable a modern, data-driven model of property operations to improve building performance in real-time and meet sustainability goals.”
